About Housing Anywhere

We change the way people find accommodation around the world. Housing Anywhere is a housing platform where people can rent out rooms to international students. It originally started as a platform where outgoing exchange students can rent out their rooms when they go abroad. Incoming exchange students can rent these rooms. Nowadays, it's a global platform where demand & supply of rooms for international students meet each other.

Position

Your will guide our users through the intimidating experience when looking for a place to live while dealing with the interfaces that we provide to the advertisers who are offering their room. All-in-all, we need to provide high-quality matching and drive trust between the marketplace participants. 

Technologies and tools like React, Redux, SASS/CSS-in-JS, TypeScript and Webpack were used while builduing our client-side app. Our back-end is powered by Go (Golang) backed by a Postgres database and we’re moving to a service oriented architecture (microservices). Easy scaling is possible due to hosting of our server components on a Google Cloud architecture. Since the early days we've been using React, GraphQL and Golang in production environments.

Your qualification

• You are a Product-oriented person who loves developing products that help people
• You like test automation and you are interested in TDD best practices
• You are able to find a clean and simple solution that could be easily adapted and scale as the business requirements evolve
• Interest in new technologies
• Excellent skills in Javascript, ideally with the whole Javascript stack (Node, React, etc)
• An educational background in the Computer Science or similar field is preferable, although passionate career changers are also welcome
• Experience working with Scrum or Agile
• Code versioning in Git
• Strong understanding of (web) user interface design and development
• Basic understanding on how to prepare a good burger
• Experience with at least one back end language (preferably Golang)

Will be a plus

Experience with online marketplaces, service providers and API development
