Position

At ChannelEngine, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Team Lead for our engineering department, who will not only oversee a team of capable engineers, but also contribute to the development of our international e-commerce SaaS solution.

What you’ll be doing

• Organising and managing a team of +/- 5 software developers
• Coaching the engineers in your team, and carrying out performance and salary reviews
• Leading scrum team meetings 
• Developing and maintaining the high quality systems that form the ChannelEngine ecosystem, focusing on high impact components, processes and architectural decision making
• Designing and writing code to ensure optimal efficiency, maintainability, functionality and user experience
• Creating and maintaining coding quality guidelines and standards
• Working closely with the Head of Technology and the Product Owners to ensure alignment between the roadmap and the work being carried out 
• Consulting with clients and/or partners during design phase, collecting and analysing ongoing issues, providing advice and coordinating tests 
• Proactively following recent developments in e-commerce, software architecture, development methodologies, SaaS, and providing input on how we can apply this knowledge at ChannelEngine
• Contributing to recognising future business needs and planning for how architecture will support/enable it

Your qualification

In addition to a winning personality and exceptional interpersonal skills, you will need:

• A bachelor’s (HBO or WO) degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
• 6+ years’ programming experience using C# and .NET
• 2+ years’ experience in managing, reviewing and coaching a software development team of 5+ FTE
• Experience working in an agile environment and leading a scrum team
• A solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, and experience working with large data sets
• Experience in designing large features, code migrations and/or other high impact changes
• Experience working with complex applications using CI/CD and automated testing
• Good knowledge of asynchronous programming 
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal
• A positive attitude and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Availability to work 40 hours per week

Will be a plus

• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure
• Experience in designing and implementing application architecture
• Familiarity with e-commerce systems
• Awareness of recent developments in the .NET stack (.NET 6)
