Position

Job Advertising is a major source of revenue for Indeed. The Advertising System Capabilities team’s mission is to design, build, scale, and extend our systems to handle all advertising on the world's #1 job site - Indeed.com. We run the complex systems, architecture, APIs, and Data for all Advertising Campaigns at Indeed, Glassdoor, and other job sites. Our Tokyo-based team works closely with our partner teams in the USA, UK, and India.

We are hiring staff software engineers in Japan for the following sub-teams:

Campaign Capabilities

The Campaign Capabilities team designs and builds the platform that provides APIs for managing sponsoring jobs, advertisers, and related components. We build scalable and extensible solutions that allow for the development and customization of various advertising products. On this team, you’ll have an opportunity to collaborate with many other Indeed Ads products and teams on a global scale.

Campaign Architecture

The Campaign Architecture team builds the platform to provide the configurability of charging capabilities and billing experience to the Indeed Ads teams, enabling quick launch and fast iteration of experiments for new pricing models. The team processes large scale cross-region data in real time. If you’re interested in designing and building scalable, resilient, and secure software solutions, this team is looking for you.

Campaign Metrics & Multi-Channel Capabilities

The Campaign Metrics and Multi-Channel Capabilities teams focus on collecting high quality signals in a general way at all levels of the ad conversion funnel to support Indeed's ad business. The teams process large scale data across regions in real-time. Since this data is fundamental to all downstream charging/reporting/bidding optimization systems, it requires the data to be accurate and the systems to be highly scalable and reliable. You will also have a chance to learn about various other systems/products at Indeed because both teams collaborate with many other teams across the organization.

Your qualification

• BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant professional experience
• 5+ years experience in software development with experience in object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, C#, C++
• 2+ years experience building APIs that solve real-world customer problems
• Demonstrable leadership skills with experience guiding a team of engineers to deliver a project from requirements scoping to launch
• Ability to deep dive, analyze, and enhance complex systems while maintaining high code quality
• Proficient in designing and building large scale, highly available, distributed systems

• Experienced in working with other internal or external teams and stakeholders to accomplish projects
• Experienced with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Kubernetes 
• In certain sub-teams, experienced with Kafka, Debezium, Confluent Cloud, and AWS 
• In certain sub-teams, experienced with Kafka, Kafka Streams, Confluent Cloud, Mongo, AWS, and DynamoDB 
• In certain sub-teams, experienced with Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, HBase, and experience in the Apache Hadoop domain
