Position
As Senior Software Engineer, you will be you will be both a key hands-on contributor and a technical leader within a growing team of talented software engineers at Optum. The Senior Software Engineer is essential for helping guide colleagues on the technical direction for the team and will support leadership in ensuring best in class agile and engineering practices are used. Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing
- Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
- Design and implement performance and operational enhancements
- Design reusable components, frameworks, and libraries
- Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases through Sprints
- Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
- Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
- Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines
- Ensure that adequate knowledge transfer is done within team members
- Participate in on-call Dev-Ops support rotation
- Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team
- Estimate engineering work effort for engineering team and effectively identify and prioritise the high impact tasks
Your qualification
- Strong experience with .NET, Web API and Entity Framework
- Front end experience with Angular
- Proven experience CI/CD with Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub or containerisation
- Experience with cloud platforms
- SQL experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in automating build processes, application deployments and continuous integration systems
- Experience in object-oriented design and implementation
- Solid understanding of formal architecture, design patterns and best practices
- Experience in the health care industry
