Position

We are looking for an Observability and Site Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on Open Source and Open Telemetry technologies. As an observability & Site Reliability Engineer you will design, implement, deploy, and maintain observability solutions that cover application & infrastructure telemetry through metrics, logs, and traces, visualizations, and alert management capabilities. This position will partner with other SRE teams to help improve the scalability, availability, recoverability, monitoring, and logging of applications that will use the observability platforms.

Responsibilities will include:

• Design, build, maintain and operate observability solutions with high efficiency and availability
• Deliver Managed Services that cover the following domains:
• Log Collection and Analysis
• Operational Metrics
• Distributed Tracing
• Code and Artifact Repositories
• Build, Test, and Deployment Automation
• Secrets Management
• Quantify performance of services by measuring and monitoring usage, availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Address production issues and provide Tier 3/4 on call support.

• Java, Python, Go, Bash scripts

• Task management: JIRA

• Version control: Git, GitHub

• Deployments: Jenkins, Bash, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Docker • Observability: DataDog, PagerDuty, Prometheus, Grafana

Your qualification

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

• Experience with one or more open-source observability tools like Prometheus, Jaeger, Loki, Grafana, Elastic Stack etc

• Experience with one or more commercial monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic, etc

• Coding experience in one or more of the following: C#, C, C++, JavaScript, Java, Python, or Go

• Experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Lambda

• Experience with one or more cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure (certification is preferred)

• Experience with Application Performance Monitoring Tools

• Modern application architecture (micro-services) understanding

• Demonstrated ability to work with global teams across time zones

• Self-starter attitude and the ability to make decisions independently

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

• 5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.
