Software Engineer - Recommendation Systems (Java/Scala)

Position

• Become a part of an agile, cross-functional and experienced team made up of backend, frontend and research engineers
• Implement highly scalable recommender systems with state-of-the-art technologies which serves personalized recommendations. Develop & improve software in short release cycles with agile methods
• Cooperate with different other teams & stakeholders with various backgrounds and with a large spectrum of competences
• Control operating an advanced system landscape hosted on AWS that meets the highest standards in terms of performance, reliability and latency

Your qualification

• 4+ years as a back-end developer
• Understanding of JVM technologies and surrounding ecosystem. Java and/or Scala are the languages of choice
• Experience with databases like Redis, Cassandra and ElasticSearch and in building, deploying and operating data-driven systems in a cloud environment (particularly with AWS)
• Operational mindset and strive to continuously improving the system reliability
• Competence in data engineering technology, e.g. Spark, SQL, Airflow, AWS EMR, AWS Data Pipelines
