Position

AppLift Engineering has recently transformed into a collaboration between full-featured self-organized teams. Team tasks may vary from quarter to quarter and they are always driven by clearly defined goals and their business value. Every team is fully responsible for delivering their software and holding close contact with the stakeholders. We organize regular product demos where we share our progress with our stakeholders and collect their feedback. Typical team size is 3-6 people. A team includes Software and Tests Engineers and a Product Manager.

We serve both internal and external customers. We follow ‘best for the task’ approach when designing our platform and choosing technologies, as we are always willing to improve. We run our software in AWS and deploy it with help of Terraform, Docker, and Mesos.

We are looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our unifying console team and become an important contributor to our business and technology.

Your Responsibilities:

• You build and maintain different products that are used by internal and external stakeholders
• You build and maintain our APIs, infrastructures and data pipeline
• You work on Backend elements on all of our products, making them perform better and more user friendly
• You are proactive and pay attention to the scalability, performance, availability and usability of our systems
• You work closely with product, design and implement solutions based on requirements
• You write clean code, automate and continuously deploy it
• You rapidly diagnose and resolve production issues
• You work on AWS, Mesos and other cloud based solutions
• You research, and are happy to learn new technologies that will improve our products and development flow
• Act as a focal point for Backend related challenges

Your qualification

• You bring at least 8+ years of work experience in web development and software engineering
• Min. 5 years Ruby on Rails professional experience, with an excellent knowledge of backend development and technologies
• Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries that runs on large datasets
• Provide or implement suggestions for improvements where applicable
• Experience with distributed systems and solving its problems
• You like to solve complex problems and are able to prioritize between different projects
• You are a team player and don’t mind “getting your hands dirty“ to support others
• Very good communication skills with high English proficiency
• Entrepreneurial drive to create successful products
• Passion for mobile advertising with a great User Experience
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
