Position
Wolt is looking to expand it's Security team, and we're hiring a Security Engineer to build an even more secure Wolt. This role, in addition to a few new hires and our existing Security Lead, will form a Security team answering to all the security needs of Wolt. The team is based in Helsinki HQ (working remotely at the moment) but welcomes a new member to the Helsinki HQ or working entirely remotely in elsewhere Finland, Germany, Denmark, or Estonia now and in the future!
You'll be working on the application security of all of our live products. We provide products for a multitude of user groups, the largest ones being consumers, merchants and courier partners. We have already 20 engineering teams working across all product needs of Wolt, and you'll be involved in helping them to make all our products more secure.
You won't own any code, but we're definitely looking for a person with hands-on development skills. Especially in the beginning, you'll likely need to be very hands on. You'll be involved in all aspects of building more secure applications, such as code reviews, threat modelling sessions with developers, static code analysis, and manual audits using your preferred methods and tools. You will also verify the findings produced by our bug bounty program and other external audits, replicate them and design/implement patches. Additionally, this also includes helping developers choose and, sometimes, develop secure libraries for their codebases. Our products span over different platforms: both native and hybrid mobile and web. We work with modern technologies, and have all of our services running on AWS.
Your qualification
We're expecting you to have experience in a modern software development organization, combined with the ability to work with multiple teams. You need to have a vision for creating a better application security at Wolt, and have the confidence and drive to take that vision forward in the long run. Experience from at least some of the upcoming tasks listed above will be required and we’d be happy to hear about your experience in them as you apply!
Additional details
The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter make it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
