About the Role
This position is for an engineering manager, or an aspiring one. You will lead a scrum team of five (and counting) young and skilled backend and frontend developers (plus bright students) who create data-informed cloud applications, prototype and deploy machine learning algorithms, and build data pipelines and interfaces. You will become a part of the international Data & Analytics segment of 30 curious, open-minded, and friendly data and analytics specialists.
Our work features global organizations like the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), public bodies like municipalities and agencies, and research drivers such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and innovation funds. Often, we partner with other companies and work on advanced technical projects, including Microsoft and Google. Corporate social responsibility is something we take very seriously, both in our business and in the company culture.
We value in-real-life interaction and a social environment at DHI’s fresh and modern headquarters in the green DTU Science Park in Hørsholm. At the same time, we are very flexible about office hours and remote work.
About you

Your key responsibilities
As engineering manager, you help the developers and teams work at their full potential in coordination with the business interests and other departments. You contribute to recruitment and facilitate individual development and good performance through directing tasks and a good sense for your employees. You are part of the leadership team where we work together on the bigger picture of business, people, and culture.
The tech
Just to give you an idea: We work with Python for data science and data-centric microservice applications. TypeScript, React, and NodeJS for frontend and app logic. We rely on cloud services in Azure and AWS, sometimes GCP, depending on client needs. For dev-friendly, light-weight engineering, we prefer Kubernetes, serverless functions, and other high-level and managed services. Data flow orchestration we do with Prefect. We implement machine learning algorithms for images and time series analysis. We integrate data and machine learning with scientific computer models. But, seriously, no need to know all this already – even satellite data is not rocket science and, if you have a sense for it, you can pick up everything from us.
