Joined by the illustrious London Venture Partners, Makers Fund, 1Up Ventures and Everblue Management we’re on a journey to becoming a front-runner in games that also attacks a society epidemic; loneliness.
It all started in Copenhagen with a small group squatting in a university classroom for 7 months, getting discovered and moving in together for 3 years. Through a kickstarter, a private bank loan and perseverance we released FORCED, selling 500,000+ copies and since reaching millions of players with Minion Masters.
Position
BetaDwarf is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for the architecture and building of everything cloud-related and how the various APIs will communicate swiftly and safely with it.
You will contribute in areas and towards goals including but not limited to:
- Services that can support at least 100.000 concurrent users
- Automatic horizontal scaling using e.g. containers like Docker, Kubernetes or similar
- Automate deployment to shorten iteration time (we like everything automated)
- Services that are built robustly so they, among other things, can withstand third-party services like Steam, XboxLive, and AppStore being down and even bumps in cloud provider performance
- RESTful operations to support functionality like inventory, guilds, purchasing, authenticating, community events, quests, ranking and seasons, leaderboards and many more
- A matchmaking service that strives to form lasting friendships while creating interesting matches
- Other dynamic services like chat, lobby, the rich presence using e.g. WebSocket
- Enable the team to analyze player behavior and iterate upon it
- Services that handle metrics of the entire Betadwarf ecosystem
- Solutions built to support multiple games where possible
Your qualification
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Experience with Google Cloud (GCP), Plastic SCM
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability
- Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices)
- Familiarity developing distributed services deployed on local, on-premise and cloud-based platforms
- Programming skills for full stack services development (e.g. C#, ASP.NET, Python, Java, Node.js, SQL and NoSql DB’s)
- Uses a quantitative approach (modeling, iterative prototyping, analysis, tools) to architect and develop robust secure high-performance cloud services that meet demanding experience goals
- Track record of influencing cross-functional architects and high-performance teams to define architecture
- Excellent communication skills
