However, a diverse workforce (especially in the IT industry) <a href=\"https:\/\/relocate.me\/employer\/global-hiring-guide\/why-hire-internationally\">means<\/a> a richer company culture, happier and more productive employees, and the ability to innovate products that appeal to all sectors of society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While women are still very much under-represented in the tech industry, there has been a small but steady increase in the number of female technologists over the past years, according to AnitaB.org\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/anitab.org\/research-and-impact\/top-companies\/2020-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">latest report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is promising.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By the way, did you know that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bulgaria has the highest proportion of female ICT specialists<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the EU?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A lot of progress has already been made in terms of diversity but unfortunately we still have a long way to go. With the help of ground-breaking, global organizations and initiatives that support the promotion of women in the workplace, females are being encouraged more than ever before to consider careers in STEM, and tech employers are being encouraged to employ women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are just some of these organizations and initiatives:<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"content__item\">\n<h2 id=\"anchor-1\"><strong>Global \ud83c\udf0d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womentech.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WomenTech Network<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WomenTech Network believes that women are just as (if not more so) competent as their male counterparts in the tech industry. They regularly arrange networking events and provide mentorship programs and opportunities for professional growth for female tech professionals throughout the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenwhocode.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Women Who Code (WWCode)<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women Who Code was started back in 2011 and initially served the organization\u2019s local community. Today, WWCode has a whopping 230,000 members\u2014software engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and more\u2014in 122 countries and shows no signs of slowing down. Joining Women Who Code will give you access to coding resources, a global community, and the WWCode job board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hiretechladies.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tech Ladies<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tech Ladies is a leading platform that provides women with information on up and coming positions in the tech industry and provides useful information on a wide range of tech companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womenintechseo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in Tech SEO<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Women in Tech SEO (WTS) is a global community of women in Technical SEO and beyond, helping thousands of women in SEO and marketing to share knowledge\/experiences and learn from one another. Founded in May 2019 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.areejabuali.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Areej AbuAli<\/a>, WTS now boasts over 8,000 global members and more than 40,000 followers who connect through online groups and in-person festivals held in London, Berlin, and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/girlswhocode.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Girls Who Code<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Girls Who Code understands that careers in the tech industry still seems unattainable or unattractive to many young women. Their goal is to change this perception and to change the image of a programmer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womeninai.co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in AI<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in AI provides support and mentorship to females in the field of AI. This popular organization is the first of its kind to support women in AI and boasts over 5,000 members in more than 100 countries. They have played a large role in promoting more diversity in their field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womenindata.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in Data (WiD)<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With more than 30 global chapters and over 12,000 community members, WiD is a non-profit international organization that exists to increase gender diversity in the field of data science and analytics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/women-in-tech.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in Tech<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With members in more than 100 countries, Women in Tech is dedicated to closing the gender gap in the tech field. Their global reach means that they are able to support the education and training of women who wish to pursue tech careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adaslist.co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ada\u2019s List<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ada\u2019s List was initially founded to provide a supportive and useful community for women in the tech field. Although they never dreamed that they would become as large as they are today (with over 7,500 members), they simply wanted to help women find great jobs, suppliers and vendors, in addition to providing great quality advice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/powertofly.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PowerToFly<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether you are a young, female tech professional or an experienced tech leader, PowerToFly has something for all women in the tech industry. They have many useful resources, information on new jobs and a community of like-minded professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/elpha.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elpha<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elpha is a community of women professionals in the tech industry. On this platform, women can ask important questions, join their mentorship program, and encourage one another in a supportive environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/railsgirls.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rails Girls<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in Helsinki, Rails Girls is nowadays a global movement designed to encourage more women and girls to get involved in coding. Since 2010, they have arranged hundreds of free Ruby on Rails workshops around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pyladies.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PyLadies<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With over 100 <a href=\"https:\/\/pyladies.com\/locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">local Meetup groups<\/a>, PyLadies is a global community for aspiring and experienced female developers who are passionate about the Python programming language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gocarrots.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Geek Girls Carrots<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geek Girls Carrots is one of the biggest communities of women in tech. Established in Poland in 2011, this organization now operates all around the world. Through meetups, tech workshops, and other events, it is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">striving<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to bring more women into the tech workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/leanin.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LeanIn.org<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Founded by Rachel Thomas and Facebook\u2019s COO Sheryl Sandberg in 2013, LeanIn.org is a movement dedicated to helping women achieve their ambitions. One of its key initiatives\u2014Lean In Circles\u2014provides an opportunity for tens of thousands of women around the world to meet with peers, get\/give peer mentorship, and sharpen their skills. Lean In\u2019s partner network now boasts over 1,400 companies and organizations, including LinkedIn and Salesforce, who are publicly committed to gender equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/anitab.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AnitaB.org<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a few dozens of local communities in different countries, AnitaB.org is rightly considered one of the leading organizations for women in technology. All its events and programs are aimed at promoting diversity and helping women to achieve success in tech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladiesthatux.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ladies that UX<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ladies that UX is a welcoming and collaborative community of women who work in UX. They meet monthly to talk about UX and exchange knowledge. Through the Women Startup Challenge, an 8-week virtual program, they provide funding, mentoring, and other resources for women entrepreneurs building innovative tech products to solve real-world issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/lesbianswhotech.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lesbians Who Tech &amp; Allies<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lesbian Who Tech &amp; Allies is a global community of over 70,000+ LGBTQ women, trans and non-binary individuals in technology (and the people who support them).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/latinasintech.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Latinas in Tech<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Latinas in Tech was started in Silicon Valley in 2014 and has since grown into a 12,000-strong community with chapters in 15+ locations, including Austin, Chicago, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Mexico, New York City, and Seattle. Their mission is to connect, support, and empower Latina women working in tech and to create safe spaces for learning, mentorship, and recruitment. The school operates globally through its remote programs and has campuses for in-person learning in Barcelona (HQ) and Kuala Lumpur. The events and workshops Women in Tech DK regularly organizes are a great opportunity for networking and sharing experience\/ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Norway <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83c\uddf3\ud83c\uddf4<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tenk-norge.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TENK-Norge<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2014, TENK has been on a mission to support and promote women in the technology industry in Norway. (The official website is only available in Norwegian.)<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Germany \ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddea<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.femaletechleaders.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Female Tech Leaders (FTL)<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This German organization aims to empower and encourage girls and women in leadership and STEM positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Switzerland \ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udded<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/weshape.tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We Shape Tech<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The We Shape Tech community was founded in 2016. Today, it boasts over 1,500 members and more than 5,000 followers on social media platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Czech Republic <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\uddff<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.czechitas.cz\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Czechitas<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Czechitas is a non-profit organization that educates, inspires, and encourages children and women to become part of the IT industry. They organize lectures, one-day workshops, and long-term courses in areas such as Programming, Web Design, Graphic Design, Testing, Data Analysis, and Digital Marketing. Courses are held regularly in major cities across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Portugal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf9<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.portuguesewomenintech.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portuguese Women in Tech<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Portuguese Women in Tech community was launched in April 2016 to address the under-representation of women in Portugal\u2019s tech and startup scene. Besides organizing events and workshops for women in tech, the group is also offering a 5-month mentorship program for female tech students and recent graduates.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Spain <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.allwomen.tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allWomen<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allWomen is a Barcelona-based initiative offering Web Development, Data Science, UX\/UI Design, and Product Management courses for women, by women.
